Vintage Space-Age Chess Set designed by Arthur Elliott. The International game of chess is as old as civilization. A game of strategy, it is often compared with war maneuvers. Even the pieces used to play the game have been compared to military counterparts: the pawn as the foot soldier, the knight as the armed horseman, the tower as the fort or tank, and so on. Artist Arthur Elliott has created a new design to conform to the space age. At one time worked with Walt Disney. The pieces are in the character with the traditional ones and as a result of an inspired design, freshness and clarity are brought to to a classic game. Set comes with original wooden box and pamphlet (printed in Italy by Anri).
